Melissa Harris is a small batch studio potter living and working in Bayport, New York. She chooses stoneware for her work due to its durability as well as its natural beauty. She utilizes ancient craftsmanship methods of wheel throwing and handbuilding, and creates her slips and glazes from earth’s materials. She enjoys exploring the themes of imperfection and the graceful aging process, finding beauty in these complexities. Melissa is dedicated to continually create new and exciting designs. She puts a great deal of thought and craftsmenship in each piece she makes.
